About Travis Wilson
I AM A PASTOR, HUSBAND, FATHER, AND TRAVELER OF THESE ROADS…
I am a lover of words, coffee, people, technology, and God. Living in Michigan, I am an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church In America (ELCA). The views on this blog are entirely my own and do not reflect my congregation or my denomination.I was ordained in 2012 as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church In America. I have served two congregations in Michigan as a pastor, have done work in hospital chaplaincy, youth ministry, and also technology support.
My degrees are a Masters of Divinity from Trinity Lutheran Seminary at Capital University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Roanoke College. Originally from Virginia, I love all things from the south – biscuits and gravy, sweet tea, grits, and southern hospitality.
My wife, Kristen, and I met in college and got married after graduation. In 2016, we welcomed our daughter Lorelai into our world and our lives and it has been both a joy and challenge to be a parent, but one I wouldn’t give up. Both of them bring great joy to my life and the world.
When I’m not in church or talking about church, I enjoy coffee maybe a little too much. I also like to try and play either the piano, guitar, or bass guitar whenever my schedule allows. Reading and writing are two of my favorite things where I can both process and create, and being a creator of something is very energizing.
I am also legally blind and navigate the world well, but I am increasingly noticing things that don’t come so easy any longer. I have a heart for people who are on the margins of our world and desire them to know they too are beloved, worthy of respect and dignity, and a vital part of our world.
